For Jane, drywall, 2 x 4’s, screws, and drywall dust, 2010

For Jane is a 10’ x 9’ wall cut into lace exposing the interior construction. My current body of work examines the idea of ‘home’ using building material to think about social structure. This wall has become my physical translation of the short story,The Yellow Wallpaper (Charlotte Perkins Gilman 1899) exploring pattern, repetition, hysteria, and compulsive searching.
